Add a campaign to play on a digital signage display
A display plays a campaign when 3 things line up. The campaign is enabled for Digital Signage on a playlist that belongs to the display's display type; the campaign has an asset for that playlist; and the campaign is activated. This article walks through all 3 using your own image or video. To have the platform generate the asset instead, see Generate storyboard, copy and creative with AI.
Before you begin
- At least 1 display registered and assigned to a display type — see Register a new display or device and Create a display type and playlist.
- An image or video in the display type's Display Resolution (W x H), for example 1920 x 1080 for a landscape display. The resolution is listed under Displays & Devices → Manage Display Types.
- A campaign with a saved brief, written by the AI assistant or by hand — see Launch a new campaign. No AI integration is needed for this route.
Enable Digital Signage on the campaign
- In the left navigation, select Campaigns.
- Select the campaign name to open it. The Campaign Brief tab opens.
- Under ENABLED TOUCH-POINT(S), turn on Digital Signage.
- In Playlist(s), choose every playlist the campaign should play on.
A display's playlist comes from its display type; you can see it in the Active Playlist column of the Displays & Devices list.
- Select Update Campaign Brief.
Upload the creative for each playlist
- Select the Creative tab, then Campaign Assets.
- Find the card for the playlist, for example LANDSCAPE PLAYLIST (DIGITAL SIGNAGE).
- Select Upload new Campaign Asset and choose your image or video.
- Repeat for every playlist card. Each playlist needs its own asset in that playlist's orientation and resolution.
Activate the campaign
- At the top right of the page, turn on the activation toggle next to Status.
Verify it worked
Status at the top right no longer shows Not Activated, and the display starts playing the campaign in its rotation. To confirm from HQ Admin, open the display under Displays & Devices and check its Campaign Playback tab — see View the campaign playback audit for a display.
Troubleshooting
The campaign does not appear on the display
Cause. The display's playlist is not one of the campaign's Playlist(s), or the display is offline.
Fix. Compare the display's Active Playlist with the campaign's playlists and add the missing one. If the display shows a red status dot, see A display shows as offline.
Only one orientation plays
Cause. An asset was uploaded for 1 playlist card only.
Fix. Under Creative → Campaign Assets, upload an asset on every playlist card.
