Some visitors do not speak your store's primary language. If your profile lists the languages you speak, a store manager can place such a visitor on hold for a staff member with that language, and you can pick them up from the On Hold view. Takes about a minute.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. In the top-right corner of Retail Admin, select your avatar.
  2. Select Profile.
  3. Open the Languages Spoken list.
  4. Choose every language you can serve visitors in. Each one is added as a tag.
  5. Select Save Changes.
Only the languages of staff currently on shift — status Available or Serving Customers — appear in the manager's Languages Spoken list when placing a visitor on hold. Set your status when you start and finish work so your languages count.

Verify it worked

Select your chip in the STAFF row on the queue page: your languages appear in square brackets, for example [Chinese (Mandarin)]. They are also listed in Languages Spoken by Store Staff on the store profile.
