QR Control puts a dynamically changing QR code on a display. A visitor scans it and their phone becomes a remote control: the mobile store site shows the QR Control campaigns running on that display, and tapping one plays it on the screen. You enable it per display on the Enabled Features tab. Allow about 2 minutes.

Before you begin

  • An HQ Admin account with permission to manage displays and devices.
  • QR Control is enabled for the organisation under Platform Admin → Enabled Features → QR Control, and the default QR code settings are set. See Enable QR Control and set the default QR code settings.
  • A campaign running on this display (Digital Signage) with the QR-Control touch-point enabled, for the experience to have something to engage. See How QR Control works.

Steps

  1. In the left navigation, select Displays & Devices.
  2. Select the display's Name.
  3. Select the Enabled Features tab.
  4. Tick Enable QR Control. The QR settings for this display appear.
  5. If this display needs different settings from the default, set Size (in px), Qr Code Colour and Connected Icon/Logo Colour.
  6. In QR Control - Mobile Site Template, choose the mobile site template a visitor sees after scanning.
  7. Select Save Changes.

Verify it worked

The display shows a QR code in the position and size you set. In Displays & Devices, the display's Enabled Features column shows the QR icon. Scan the code with a phone: it connects to the display, and the mobile store site shows that display's QR Control campaigns in a carousel, with the other menu items pushed down. Tapping a campaign's call to action plays its video on the display.

Troubleshooting

No QR code appears on the screen

Cause. QR Control is off at the organisation level, or Enable QR Control is not ticked for this display.

Fix. Turn on Enable QR-Control on Connected Store Displays under Platform Admin → Enabled Features → QR Control, then tick Enable QR Control on the display's own Enabled Features tab. The code appears as soon as QR Control is enabled at both levels — it does not depend on a campaign being active.
