Get notified when a display goes offline
An offline device notification emails a list of addresses when displays have been offline for longer than a period you choose, at a frequency you choose. Set one up so store managers or the helpdesk hear about a dead screen without anyone checking the list by hand. Allow about 2 minutes.
Before you begin
- An HQ Admin account with the Admin role.
- The email addresses to notify. You can use the
{$StoreManagerEmail}token to send each alert to the manager of the affected store.
Steps
- In the left navigation, select Displays & Devices.
- At the top right, select Offline Device Notifications. The Offline Device Notification page lists existing notifications with their Email Address(es), Number of Devices, Device Offline for, Email Frequency and Activation Status.
- Select Create New Notification.
- Enter the email address or addresses to notify, or the
{$StoreManagerEmail}token. - Choose how long a device must be offline before it is included, for example 1 Day.
- Choose how often the email is sent, for example Daily.
- Save the notification.
- In the list, make sure the notification's Activation Status toggle is on.
Verify it worked
The notification appears in the list with Activation Status on, and Number of Devices shows how many displays currently meet its offline condition. The recipients receive the first email at the next scheduled send.
