Test your mobile site
Once your default template is defined, check it on a real phone in each visitor state. The store's own QR code opens the site in the Away from Store State; a display's QR Control code opens it in the Connected Store State and, when triggered campaigns are running, the Connected Display State.
Before you begin
- The default template is defined. See Define your default mobile site template.
- A phone with a camera.
- To test the display states, QR Control is enabled on at least 1 display. See Enable QR Control on a display.
Preview the template in HQ Admin
- In the left navigation, select Platform Admin.
- Under Enabled Features, select Mobile Store Sites.
- Select Preview Mobile Site. The preview shows the header and menu items.
Test the Away from Store State
- In the left navigation, select Stores / Branches.
- Select the store's name.
- On the Store Details tab, select Download QR-Code for Store Site (Transparent PNG).
- Open the downloaded image and scan it with your phone. The store site opens in the Away from Store State and shows the menu items ticked for that state.
Test the Connected Store and Connected Display States
- Stand at a display that has QR Control enabled and scan the QR code shown on its screen.
To test without being in the store, open Displays & Devices, select the display's name, and scan the Display QR Code on the Display Details tab.
- Check that the site opens in the Connected Store State and shows the menu items ticked for that state.
- If triggered campaigns are running on that display, check that the campaign carousel appears with those campaigns.
Verify it worked
The site header shows the store's name, and the menu changes between the store QR code and the display QR code according to the states you ticked for each item.
Troubleshooting
A menu item opens a blank page
Cause. The destination site's content security policy does not allow it to load inside the mobile site.
Fix. Select Open in New Tab on the menu item. See My mobile site shows a blank page.
The display shows no QR code
Cause. Enable QR Control is not ticked for that display, or QR Control is off for the platform.
Fix. Follow Enable QR Control and set the default QR code settings, then tick Enable QR Control on the display's Enabled Features tab.
