Each store decides how many appointments it can take at the same time on a given day. The # of Appointment Slots value sits beside the opening and closing time for each weekday and each public holiday, so a store manager can set it from the staff tablet and HQ Admin can set it centrally. Set it to 0 on any day the store should not take bookings.

Before you begin

  • Appointments enabled for the platform and for this store. See Enable appointment bookings.
  • For Retail Admin: a login for the store. For HQ Admin: an account with the Admin role.

Set slots from Retail Admin (staff tablet)

  1. Sign in to your store's Retail Admin site.
  2. In the left navigation, select Store Info, then Store Hours. The Opening Hours & Appointment Settings page opens on the Opening Hours tab.
  3. For each day from MONDAY to SUNDAY, choose a value in # of Appointment Slots. A closed day has no slots.
  4. Select the Special Holiday Hours sub-tab.
  5. For each holiday in Upcoming Public Holidays, choose a value in # of Appointment Slots, or 0 to take no bookings that day.
  6. Select Save Changes.

Set slots from HQ Admin

  1. In the left navigation, select Stores / Branches.
  2. Select the store name, then the Store Hours tab.
  3. On the Opening Hours sub-tab, choose a value in # of Appointment Slots for each day.
  4. On the Holidays / Seasons sub-tab, do the same for each holiday in Upcoming Public Holidays.
  5. Select Save Changes.
The Appointment Template also carries a Default # of Appointment Slots per timeslot (default 1), together with the timeslot length and buffer. The per-day value on Store Hours is what a store manager controls.

Verify it worked

The Opening Hours and holiday tables show the saved slot counts. On the Retail Admin APPOINTMENTS tab, a day set to 0 accepts no new bookings, and a day with more than 1 slot lets more than 1 customer book the same timeslot.
