Step 3 — Set up DNS after installation
When installation finishes, the platform sends the Master Admin two CNAME records that point your platform domain at the new instance. Add them to your DNS, then verify the domain in the Installation Wizard.
Before you begin
- Installation has finished and the Master Admin has received the email Personalisation Hub - Installation Complete > Next Step: DNS Set-Up.
- Access to the DNS for your platform domain — in practice, your webmaster or IT team. If you serve the domain through a CDN, the records go behind it.
Steps
- Open the Installation Complete email. It contains the 2 CNAME records to add, and the Installation Wizard shows a countdown to certificate expiry.
- Forward the email to whoever manages your DNS.
- Add both CNAME records exactly as given, for the platform domain you chose during installation (for example
ph.yourdomain.com). - In the Installation Wizard, select Verify Domain.
Verify it worked
The Master Admin receives a second email, Personalisation Hub DNS has been set up > Final Step: Login & Add Users. Your platform domain now loads the Personalisation Hub sign-in page over HTTPS.
Troubleshooting
Verify Domain keeps failing
Cause. The records have not propagated yet, or one of them was entered against the wrong host.
Fix. Check both records match the email character for character, including the trailing dot if your DNS provider adds one, then wait and select Verify Domain again.
The countdown reached zero before the records were live
Cause. The AWS certificate expired after 3 days.
Fix. Contact Personalisation Hub support to have the certificate reissued. The installation itself is unaffected.
