# Update your store's segments (Retail Admin)

> Store managers: switch your store's variable segments on or off from the staff tablet so localised campaigns start or stop playing in your store.

Variable store segments let a store manager drive a level of localisation from the store itself. When you attach a segment such as "Cold Day" or "IPHONE 17 - Out of Stock" to your store, every campaign targeted at that segment starts playing on your displays and mobile store site; remove it and they stop. It takes under a minute.

## Before you begin

- A Retail Admin login for your store with the Store Manager role.
- The segments already created by HQ Admin as **Variable Store Segments** under **Company Settings → Retail Settings → Store Segments**. Only variable segments appear in Retail Admin; **Fixed Store Segments** are managed by HQ Admin only.

## Steps

1. Sign in to your store's Retail Admin site.
2. In the left navigation, select **Store Info**, then **Store Segments**. The **Store Segments** page opens.
3. In **Segments associated with the store**, choose each segment that applies to your store today. Selected segments appear as tags in the field.
4. To remove a segment that no longer applies, remove its tag.
5. Select **Save Changes**.

## Verify it worked

The **Store Segments** page shows the segments you chose as tags, and campaigns targeted at those segments appear in the rotation on the store's displays. In HQ Admin, the **Stores / Branches** list shows the same values in the **Store Segments** column.
