The Installation Wizard creates your Master Admin account and then installs the platform into the stack you created in Step 1. Installation itself takes a little under an hour, and you do not need to stay on the page — the platform emails the Master Admin when it finishes.

## Before you begin

- The CloudFormation stack from [Step 1](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/platform-installation/step-1-deploy-the-platform-through-aws-marketplace/) shows `CREATE_COMPLETE`.
- You have the platform domain, Master Admin email address and (ideally) a Google Maps API key from the [pre-installation check-list](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/getting-started/pre-installation-checklist/).

## Create the Master Admin account

1. In CloudFormation, open your stack and select the **Outputs** tab.
2. Select the **EC2InstancePublicURL** value. The Personalisation Hub Installation Wizard opens.
3. Enter your **Company / Brand Name**. The platform uses it as the `${BrandName}` token in everything it sends to customers.
4. Enter the **Master Admin Email**. This is the platform's primary admin login, and it receives the installation emails — use a shared mailbox such as `itadmin@yourdomain.com` rather than one person's address.
5. Enter a **Master Admin Password**. It also opens the Cost Control Settings page later. A simple password is fine at this point: you are required to change it at your first login to the platform.
6. Accept the **Terms & Conditions** and select **Create Master Account**.
7. Sign in to the Installation Wizard with the same email address and password.

## Configure and install

1. Choose the **Environment Type**: Development, Staging or Production.
2. Wait for **Environment Size** to load, then choose **Medium** or larger.
3. Enter the **Platform Domain**, for example `ph.yourdomain.com`.
4. Enter your **Google Maps API Key** if you have it. It is needed to add stores, locations and addresses, and can be added later under Integrations.
5. Select **Install Platform**.

> **Important:** The platform domain cannot be changed once set, and it must sit on your organisation's primary domain. That is what lets the platform connect first-party cookies and experiences between a customer's online journey and their visit to a physical store.

> **Note:** Do not choose the Functional or Low environment sizes, particularly if you plan to use the AI features. Start at Medium or above; the size can be adjusted later.

## Verify it worked

After roughly 55 minutes the Master Admin receives an email titled **Personalisation Hub - Installation Complete > Next Step: DNS Set-Up**, containing the 2 CNAME records for your domain.

## Next step

The certificate AWS issues for your platform domain lasts 3 days, so continue with [Step 3 — Set up DNS after installation](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/platform-installation/step-3-set-up-dns-after-installation/) straight away.
