The mobile site template marked **(DEFAULT)** is assigned to every store and display automatically. Define its header and menu items once and every store site uses them. Allow about 10 minutes.

## Before you begin

- An HQ Admin login with access to **Platform Admin**.
- The URLs you want to link to, for example your queue, appointments, store finder or offers pages.
- If you want menu items to appear only while a store is open, each store's opening hours are set. See [Update your store's opening hours (Retail Admin)](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/stores-and-retail-data/update-your-stores-opening-hours-retail-admin/).

## Open the default template

1. In the left navigation, select **Platform Admin**.
2. Under **Enabled Features**, select **Mobile Store Sites**.
3. In the template list, select the template marked **(DEFAULT)**, for example **Mobile App (DEFAULT)**.
4. Check the **Template Name**.
5. In **Mobile Header**, enter the heading visitors see. Select **+ Add Token** and insert `${StoreName}` so each store shows its own name.
6. Set **Enable QR Code Scanner** on if visitors need to scan a display's QR code from inside the site.

## Add the menu items

1. Select **Add Menu Item**.
2. Choose a pre-configured item, such as **Join the queue**, or give the item a name, an icon and the URL it opens.
3. Choose the schedule: **Show 24 hours a day**, or only during the store's opening hours.
4. Tick the states the item is shown in: **Show in Away from Store State**, **Show in Connected Store State**, **Show in Connected Display State** and **Show in Connected Website State**.
5. If the destination site refuses to load inside the mobile site, select **Open in New Tab**. See [My mobile site shows a blank page](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/mobile-store-sites/my-mobile-site-shows-a-blank-page/).
6. Select **Save**. The item appears in the list with its URL, schedule and states.
7. Repeat for each menu item, then select **Prioritise Menu Order** to arrange them.
8. Select **Save Changes**.

> **Important:** When a template has only 1 menu item and no campaigns are running on the display, the site loads that item's URL immediately instead of showing a menu. Add at least 2 items to the default template unless you want that redirect.

## Verify it worked

On the **Mobile Store Sites** page, select **Preview Mobile Site**. The preview shows your header and the menu items you added. Then test on a phone using [Test your mobile site](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/mobile-store-sites/test-your-mobile-site/).
