# Connect the platform to Google Business Profile

> Authenticate Personalisation Hub with your Google Business Profile account and choose which stores to synchronise with the platform.

Connecting the platform to Google Business Profile makes Personalisation Hub the single source of truth for store data: store details and opening hours are synchronised between the platform and your Google listings. Allow about 15 minutes, plus the time to back up your Google data first.

## Before you begin

- An HQ Admin account with the Admin role.
- The **Client ID** and **Client secret** from [Obtain your Google Business Profile API credentials](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/integrations-and-3rd-party-guides/obtain-your-google-business-profile-api-credentials/).
- A Secret/Token for Google Business Profile created under [API Authentication](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/integrations-and-3rd-party-guides/create-api-authentication-credentials-for-an-integration/).
- A backup of your Google Business Profile data — see [Back up your Google Business Profile data](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/integrations-and-3rd-party-guides/back-up-your-google-business-profile-data/). Synchronisation asks you to confirm this before it runs.
- Access to the Google account that manages your organisation's Business Profile listings.

## Save your Google credentials

1. In the left navigation, select **Platform Admin**.
2. Under **Enabled Features**, select **Google Business Profile**.**Sync Store Data** shows **Not Connected**.

3. Select **Connect Platform with Google**.
4. Enter the **Client ID** from Google Cloud.
5. Enter the **Client Secret**.
6. From the Secret/Token drop-down, choose the token you created for Google Business Profile.
7. Select **Save Changes**.

## Authenticate with Google

1. Select the authenticate button.Google's sign-in page opens.

2. Choose the Google account that manages your Business Profile listings and, if asked, sign in.
3. When Google asks for permission to give your Personalisation Hub instance access to your Business Profile listings, select **Allow**.You return to the **Google Business Profile** page. The platform is now connected; you can stop here or continue to choose which stores to synchronise.

## Choose which stores to synchronise

> **Warning:** Take a backup of your Google Business Profile data before you continue. Synchronisation changes store data and cannot be undone from the platform.

1. On the **Google Business Profile** page, select **Manage Synchronised Stores**.
2. Select **Sync Store Data from Google Business Profile**.The platform loads the stores from your Google account.

3. Select the **select all** checkbox, or select the individual stores you want to synchronise.
4. Select the right-arrow icon to move the selected stores to the synchronisation list.
5. Select the **I confirm that I have taken a back-up of the data** checkbox.
6. When synchronisation finishes, select **Done**.

## Verify it worked

**Stores / Branches** lists every store you selected, each with its Google address details filled in. On each synchronised store's **Enabled Features** tab, the **Synchronise Store/Opening-Hour Data with Google Business Profiles** toggle controls whether that store stays in sync.

## Troubleshooting

### Google shows an error after sign-in instead of returning to the platform

**Cause.** The redirect URI registered in Google Cloud does not match your platform domain.

**Fix.** In Google Cloud, check the URI under **Authorised redirect URIs** against the value in [Obtain your Google Business Profile API credentials](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/integrations-and-3rd-party-guides/obtain-your-google-business-profile-api-credentials/), then authenticate again.

### Google refuses the connection with a permissions error

**Cause.** The Google account you chose does not manage the Business Profile listings, or the project has not been approved for the Business Profile APIs.

**Fix.** Authenticate with the account that owns or manages the listings, and confirm Google's approval for the project.
