Personalisation Hub is an omnichannel personalisation platform for physical retail. It runs inside your own AWS account, and it lets a head office plan, create and launch localised and personalised campaigns across every customer touch-point — digital signage in store, mobile store sites, your website and mobile app, the staff tablet and AI agents — from 1 interface.

Initial focus is on getting more passer-by traffic in-store. Shopfront displays target and continually optimise campaigns to bring more of the people walking past into the store, and hyper-personalised campaigns, queueing and a seamless hand-over to store staff convert more of them once inside.

This page is the executive summary. For the industry view see [Benefits by industry](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/getting-started/benefits-by-industry/); for worked scenarios see [Use cases supported by Personalisation Hub](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/getting-started/use-cases-supported-by-personalisation-hub/); to start setting up, follow [Your first 30 days: the recommended set-up order](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/getting-started/your-first-30-days-the-recommended-set-up-order/).

## What the platform is

Personalisation Hub is installed from AWS Marketplace into a private VPC in your own AWS account, on your own domain. There is no shared multi-tenant service: your store data, campaign data and customer data stay in your account. Installation is a single CloudFormation stack using the platform Installation Wizard, and takes a little over 1 hour end to end — see [Install Personalisation Hub from AWS Marketplace](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/platform-installation/install-personalisation-hub-from-aws-marketplace/).

Once installed, 2 web applications do the work:

HQ-ADMIN - the web interface used by HQ.

RETAIL-ADMIN - the staff tablet interface dynamically created for every store.

The platform was built in response to 3 changes in marketing: (1) the decline of third-party cookies, which weakened existing personalisation tools; (2) enterprise investments in CDPs, CRM and AI/ML data that remained hard to activate in store; and (3) legacy MarTech stacks that are siloed and costly to maintain. Its answer is a self-hosted, API-driven, AI-native platform that activates your own first-party data at the point of sale.

## The 3 product areas

### AI-native digital signage and campaigns

Self-hosted digital signage on your own domain, with campaigns that can be scheduled, localised to a store or display, targeted at an audience, or triggered by a real-time event. Every campaign is 1 brief, 1 set of targeting rules, 1 set of schedules and 1 set of creative assets, launched across every enabled touch-point. See [Digital Signage & Campaigns](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/).

### In-store personalisation

Virtual queue management, appointment bookings, context-aware mobile store sites and QR Control connect a visitor's phone, the store's displays and the staff tablet into 1 visit. Proximity personalisation (MIST), computer vision at the edge and the Visitor API add the signals that decide what each visitor sees. See [Queue Management](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/queue-management/), [Appointment Bookings](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/appointment-bookings/), [Mobile Store Sites](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/mobile-store-sites/) and [Personalisation & AI](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/personalisation-and-ai/).

### Automatic campaign creation and optimisation with AI agents

A set of AI agents and skills captures a campaign from a plain-language description, writes the brief, generates the storyboard, copy, creative and preview video for each touch-point, and — with closed-loop campaign optimisation enabled — classifies and retires campaigns based on how they play. You choose the models each skill uses and register your own provider API keys (OpenAI, Google Gen AI, LTX); a campaign can also be created by hand, without AI. See [Launch a new campaign](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/launch-a-new-campaign/), [Generate storyboard, copy and creative with AI](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/generate-storyboard-copy-and-creative-with-ai/) and [AI agents and skills reference](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/personalisation-and-ai/ai-agents-and-skills-reference/).

## Benefits by feature

Each benefit maps to a feature you can open in the platform today. Follow the link for the how-to.

### Digital signage campaigns

Displays register themselves from an Amazon Signage Stick, Fire TV, ChromeOS or Android player against your platform domain, and each display plays the playlist of its display type. A campaign is connected to a screen through that playlist, so 1 upload reaches every display of that type, and the **Displays & Devices** list shows status, active playlist and playback issues for every screen. See [Enable digital signage](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/digital-signage/enable-digital-signage/) and [Add a campaign to play on a digital signage display](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/add-a-campaign-to-play-on-a-digital-signage-display/).

### Localised and personalised campaigns

Targeting rules combine store and location data (fixed and variable store segments, display tags, the languages of staff on shift), aggregate queueing data (visitors' reasons for visit) and visitor data. A store manager can switch a variable segment such as *Hot Day* or *IPHONE 17 - Out of Stock* on from the staff tablet, and the campaigns for that condition start or stop in that store. See [Target a campaign](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/target-a-campaign/) and [Localise campaigns with store segments](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/localise-campaigns-with-store-segments/).

### AI campaign creation: brief to storyboard to creative

Describe the campaign to the AI assistant, by typing or speaking, and the platform writes the campaign brief, drawing on the target audiences, campaign objectives and brand guidelines you defined ([Upload your brand guidelines for the AI agents](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/company-set-up-and-users/upload-your-brand-guidelines-for-the-ai-agents/)). From the brief it generates a storyboard, headline and copy, a first draft of campaign creative to refine through to production-grade assets for each enabled touchpoint. This removes the wait for creative variations per screen size and orientation. The same **Launch a New Campaign** button also offers a manual option, where you manually define the campaign information and upload campaign assets yourself. See [Connect AI models and providers](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/personalisation-and-ai/connect-ai-models-and-providers/), [Launch a new campaign](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/launch-a-new-campaign/) and [Generate storyboard, copy and creative with AI](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/generate-storyboard-copy-and-creative-with-ai/).

### Virtual queue management

Visitors join the queue by scanning a QR code on a display or kiosk, or staff greet visitors on arrival in-store and add them manually, and they receive SMS updates so they can browse rather than stand in line. Each reason for visit carries a time to serve, which drives the estimated wait time shown to visitors and the store stats shown to managers. Staff pick up, hold and hand over visitors from the tablet. See [Enable virtual store queueing](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/queue-management/enable-virtual-store-queueing/).

### Appointment bookings

Customers book a time for a service or a click-and-collect pickup instead of walking in, and receive SMS and email confirmations, reminders and check-in messages. Stores set their own slots per weekday and public holiday, HQ sets the template rules (duration, buffers, lead times, cancellation windows), and calendar blocking removes dates and times you cannot serve. See [Enable appointment bookings](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/appointment-bookings/enable-appointment-bookings/).

### Context-aware mobile store sites

Every store gets a mobile site whose menu changes with the visitor's state — *Away from Store*, *Connected Store*, *Connected Display* or *Connected Website* — so the same link offers directions on the way in, the queue at the door and campaign interactions at a display. Sites are built from templates with a header, menu items and tokens such as `${StoreName}`, and can be embedded in your mobile app. See [Why create a mobile site for your stores?](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/mobile-store-sites/why-create-a-mobile-site-for-your-stores/).

### QR Control

With QR Control enabled, each connected display shows a dynamic QR code. A visitor who scans it can check-into the store (e.g. to earn loyalty points) or they can control the playback of a predefined campaigns running on that display — their phone becomes a remote control for the screen (e.g. for more info on a specific product/offer), or simply to join the queue. Size, colour and position of the QR code are set per display-type. See [Enable QR Control and set the default QR code settings](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/personalisation-and-ai/enable-qr-control-and-set-the-default-qr-code-settings/) and [What are triggered campaigns?](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/personalisation-and-ai/what-are-triggered-campaigns/).

### Computer vision audience targeting at the edge

A webcam on a display lets the player estimate the gender and age range of passers-by and choose a campaign to match. The vision model runs on the player: no images or sensitive data leave the device, and the platform receives only anonymous audience attributes, which also feed the passer-by audience figures in **Insights / Analytics**. See [Target passers-by using computer vision at the edge](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/target-passers-by-using-computer-vision-at-the-edge/) and [Does computer vision store images of shoppers?](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/personalisation-and-ai/does-computer-vision-store-images-of-shoppers/).

### Proximity personalisation

With HPE MIST virtual-BLE access points in a store, displays can be mapped to virtual zones or virtual beacons, so a visitor's phone entering a zone, immediately changes the campaigns playing on a nearby display based on any connected first party data. Combined with the Visitor API, a customer who checks in through your app can be greeted with offers based on their own profile. See [Enable proximity personalisation with MIST](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/personalisation-and-ai/enable-proximity-personalisation-with-mist/).

### Insights and analytics with closed-loop attribution

**Insights / Analytics** reports campaign playback, views and engagement by display type and location, visitor and store stats (walk-ins, appointments, wait and serve times by reason for visit) and upcoming appointment capacity. 9 downloadable reports — from hourly campaign effectiveness against local foot traffic to QR conversion and ingested POS transactions — let you attribute in-store outcomes to campaigns in your own tools. See [Review campaign performance in Insights / Analytics](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/launching-campaigns/review-campaign-performance-in-insights-analytics/).

### Retail data as a single source of truth

Stores are added from Google Places with a unique store code, and store staff keep the address, phone, opening hours, holiday hours and languages spoken current from the tablet. The same record drives localisation, queueing, appointments and connected displays, and can be synchronised with Google Business Profile so customers see the same hours everywhere. See [How store data works in Personalisation Hub](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/stores-and-retail-data/how-store-data-works-in-personalisation-hub/).

### Self-hosted AWS deployment and security

The platform runs on EKS, RDS (PostgreSQL), S3, ElastiCache, MSK and OpenSearch inside a VPC in your account, with data encrypted at rest with KMS and in transit with TLS. Access is restricted by IP address or through your CDN, HQ users are invited by role, store staff sign in through SAML single sign-on, and integrations authenticate with tokens you issue. See [Where is my data stored and how is the platform secured?](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/getting-started/where-is-my-data-stored-and-how-is-the-platform-secured/).
