# Enable digital signage

> Turn on digital signage for your organisation and for each store, and get the connection details your devices need before you register them.

Digital signage is switched on in 2 places: once for the organisation in Platform Admin, and once for each store that has screens. Until both are on, devices in that store cannot register or receive campaigns. Allow about 5 minutes, plus whatever time your device management (MDM/CDM) set-up needs.

## Before you begin

- An HQ Admin account with the Admin role.
- The stores that will have screens already exist. See [Add a store](https://personalisationhub.com/support-centre/stores-and-retail-data/add-a-store/).
- You know which hardware you are using: Amazon Signage / FireTV sticks, or ChromeOS / Android devices managed through an MDM/CDM.

## Enable digital signage for the organisation

1. In the left navigation, select **Platform Admin**.
2. Under **Enabled Features**, select **Digital Signage**.
3. Turn on **Enable Digital Signage**.
4. Select the sub-tab that matches your hardware: **Amazon Signage / FireTV** or **ChromeOS / Android**. The Amazon tab lists the on-device steps for a signage stick: install the Personalisation Hub app from the stick's supported CMS/Apps list, launch it, and enter your organisation's platform domain (for example `ph.yourdomain.com`). The stick then shows a **Register this display** screen with a unique registration code.

 The ChromeOS / Android tab provides the values your MDM/CDM needs to launch the player: the player URL, the Chrome extension ID and the JSON policy for that extension. Copy each value into your MDM/CDM and assign them to the organisational unit that holds your signage devices.

> **Important:** The platform authenticates signage players with the **Digital Signage (Do Not Delete)** token under **Platform Admin → Enabled Features → API Authentication**. Do not delete or regenerate it: every connected display would lose its connection.

## Enable digital signage for each store

1. In the left navigation, select **Stores / Branches**.
2. Select the store's name.
3. Select the **Enabled Features** tab.
4. Turn on **Digital Signage**.
5. Select **Save Changes**.
6. Repeat for every store that has screens.

## Verify it worked

Power on a device that has been set up with the platform domain (Amazon) or the player URL and extension (MDM/CDM). It shows a registration code, and the same code appears under **Displays & Devices → Unassigned Devices**.

## Troubleshooting

### The device never appears under Unassigned Devices

**Cause.** The device is not reaching your platform domain, or it sits in an organisational unit that does not have the player assigned.

**Fix.** Confirm the device has internet access, that the platform domain or player URL is entered exactly, and that the device is in the correct organisational unit in your MDM/CDM.
