# Define target audiences and campaign objectives

> Add the target audiences (personas) and campaign objectives that every campaign brief and the AI agents draw on, under Company Settings → Campaign Settings.

Target audiences and campaign objectives are 2 lists you maintain once, under **Company Settings → Campaign Settings**. They appear as the **Target Audience(s)** and **Campaign Objective** options in every campaign brief, and the platform's AI agents use them when they write the brief, targeting, scheduling and creative. Allow about 5 minutes.

## Before you begin

- An HQ Admin account with the Admin role.
- A short list of the audiences you market to (for example *Metro Males*, *Empty Nester*) and the outcomes campaigns aim for (for example *Increase Revenue / Sales*, *Reduce Churn*).

## Add a target audience

1. In the left navigation, select **Company Settings**.
2. In the sub-navigation, select **Campaign Settings**.
3. Under **Target Audiences**, select **Add New Target Audience**.
4. Enter the audience name in **Name** and confirm the entry.

## Add a campaign objective

1. On the same page, under **Campaign Objectives**, select **Add New Campaign Objective**.
2. Enter the objective in **Name** and confirm the entry.

## Remove an entry

Select the trash icon at the end of the row. Campaigns that already use the audience or objective keep their brief as written.

## Verify it worked

The item count next to **Target Audiences** or **Campaign Objectives** increases, and the new name is offered in the **Target Audience(s)** or **Campaign Objective** field of a campaign brief under **Campaigns → Launch a New Campaign**.
